Topics such as the harmonization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with medical research, the role of artificial intelligence and network pharmacology, as well as opportunities in next-generation pharmaceuticals and theranostics, were discussed at the Doctor Honoris Causa Symposium on Thursday. At the scientific session, Professor Shao Li– member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Tsinghua University – presented his research findings. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Debrecen on Friday.

Emerging seed leaves and fresh data are among the results of research measurements from the International Space Station that keep coming in constantly. In the scientific portfolio of Axiom Mission 4, the University of Debrecen is a participant in two projects: the first one is part of HUNOR Hungarian Astronaut Programme, where UD experts conduct research on brain hemodynamics, and the second one is on plant germination, micro-green cultivation and leaf development.

The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen and Odessa National University of Technology (ONTU) are involved in planning to cooperate in the field of offering online courses, designing joint research projects and promoting joint publications. Science and education cooperation opportunities were discussed at the University of Debrecen on Monday by Nebraska Secretary of State Robert Evnen. The meeting focused on joint research in agriculture and health sciences.

The University Network for Research Collaboration: One Belt, One Road Science and Technology Initiative (IUNRC) will hold its annual Presidential Roundtable at the University of Debrecen next year, as decided at this year's meeting of the body in China. The University of Debrecen has joined a prestigious international scientific training program. This year, the institution organized the 2025 Redox Chemistry/Biochemistry Graduate Summer Course for the first time. Twenty-one internationally recognized researchers in the field gave lectures at the five-day conference, and the most outstanding PhD students from partner institutions presented their research.

The University of Debrecen and the University of Central Florida signed a framework agreement for joint pharmaceutical, medical and health science research, as well as in the fields of informatics and sports, at the 5th Hungarian Summit, a conference supporting American-Hungarian cooperation, in Debrecen. The leaders of the two institutions plan to further strengthen their cooperation through collaborations between professors, students and researchers.

A delegation from the University of Debrecen participated in the China (Ningbo) - Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation Forum and signed strategic cooperation agreements with leading Chinese institutions at the end of May. The visit by Vice-Rector General Károly Pető and László Stündl, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, will establish long-term scientific and educational partnerships with Zhejiang Wanli University and Zhejiang Pharmaceutical University.
